Marine 370 ?

Put them in my 95 12 valve with a 4000 rpm governor and they didn't seem to help all that much over stock. It makes a little more smoke at low rpms and helps a little over 2500 rpm but my stock turbo can still clean it up at high rpms. Everybody told me I didn't have enough turbo but I do and I was wondering if there was something wrong?

Your timing needs to be adjusted to get the full benefit of the 370's. Some people will have different ideas about where to set it so do some searching and make your own choice. Are you running the the stock turbo? There is alot of info on here about these injectors. I am happy with mine but they do haze alot at idle. You should have noticed alot of difference with the GSK but maybe your DV's are limiting you. GOOD LUCK!

you might want to put some 181 or 191 dv's in to open that up to support the bigger injectors. I'm still looking for that mod that will REALLY wake the truck up, the small 160 seems to need alot more mods than the 215 pump to get aggressive.

try 370s

cheap and a good bang for the buck..

made 350 horses with a single, and 450 with twins and 370s.. this at 16.5 degrees of timing...

I have a feeling my timing has slipped over the years... How much is a reasonable price to pay a shop to do that?

dman99:

I reread your post about the 370's and 4k GSK. What I didn't hear you say anything about or see in your signature was what fuel plate you are running. If you are stock or have a misaligned plate/AFC you may be limiting your fueling as well. Just a thought. A plate, 370's and 4K GSK should definitely give you some juice.

My timing was done for $120

I am still amazed at how the 215 pumps react to mods, mine is at 325+ with only a 11 plate and 15* timing.

What remains of the Powerpack that you have listed in your sig? I see the plate, GSK, and DV's are on it in addition(or replacement of) the powerpack.
I've talked with many guys with 180 pumps and similar mods to you that have installed 215 injectors and noticed quite a bit. Maybe grab a set of 300 hp sticks from citydiesel.net and try them. Remember that the pumps are different, as are the stock sticks matched for each pump.

I'm not sure what all pump work it has done to it cause I just bought the truck a month ago. The truck runs very good though i'd say 400 +or - HP.Also it was capable of blowing the stock gasket in 2 weeks about a day after my last post

Sorry to hear about the head. Perhaps you didn't have enough turbo for it. The stock turbo, timing and alot of fuel can mean high drive pressures and take out HG's.

Time for O-rings and studs I'm afraid. Do it up right the first time and you won't have to go back.

Well, i've got the 3 Banks pillar gauges, big head wastegate, the 14 exhaust housing, twin ram intake, and im pretty sure thats it. Because my BHAF is getting delivered today. My Egt's stay below 1000 even under WOT, so the banks stuff does a pretty good job for that, and i can't complain since it was on the truck when I bought it.

I haven't done the timing or dv's yet but I run a set of injectors for Dixie Diesel in Columbia this weekend at a pull. They are suppose to be a little bit bigger than 370's. If they are then I'm not impressed with them at all. Couldn't tell any differance over stock other than a little more smoke, but thats it.

DMAN99 08-28-2007 08:12 PM

already got the studs and the head being machined for fire rings
