Personally I would only run genuine Cummins - and you have to be careful as sometimes head gaskets from Cummins are just repackaged Mahle...

I've got a couple thousand miles on mine so far with studs... No issues, but it's still early. Quality looked good out of the box though.

Thanks, my racer buddy says they are good and around a long time....most around here seem to say gennie Cummins parts....

I use mahle parts and gaskets all the time at work (euro cars). They beat the hell out of normal parts store parts, and they're German made. However, until I put more abusive miles on my truck, I can't speak specifically about this head gasket. But like I said, quality looked good, and it's held up so far.

How can you tell from a "cummins made one" and a Mahle in cummins packaging?

I would assume that a gasket manufacturer would make all the gaskets for Cummins. If these Mahle gaskets are being sold in Cummins packaging, I wouldn't be too worried about it; that might be what was put in the engine at the factory.

I figure as much. I got the impression the other member was saying Mahle made headgasket for cummins wasn't as good as cummins.

Yeah, that's the impression I got too. It may or may not be the case, but it's sure hard to tell these days.
