Question Location of aftermarket FP guage.

Hello Board;

My FP guage kit is on the UPS truck, should have it in a day or two. I'm wondering where most of you are installing your gauge at within the cab ? The guage I ordered is a mech. without the isolator. I plan on later adding the triple pillar with Boost / Pyro/ Trans temp at a later date.

So far It's looking like I'll probably mount it just above the floor, at the base of the dash.....this seems a little low / out of sight, but will probably be the most "mount" friendly.

Any suggestions as to potential gauge locations would be appreciated.

I have a BD X-monitor and a diprcol FP gauge installed with Geno's Garage cubby hole thingy just right of the radio. I'm running an isolator, and tied into the dash lighting by splicing into the cupholder light.

I would suggest ordering the triple pillar now and installing the FP gauge.....it will save you from going through the hassle of remounting and replumbing your gauge at a later date......the pillar is relatively inexpensive when compared to some of the gauges and you have already stated that you want it, regardless.

I have mine mounted in Geno's donut mount under the dash in front of the transfer case shifter.
It works well and I do have a clear view of it when driving I just have to look down. The F/P gauge is not one you stare at all the time like the pyro and boost so it works well under the dash. I went with the Westach electronic gauge much easier install then mechanical and I don't have fuel in the cab.

Thanks for the ideas.......I really didnt plan on putting the FP on the pillar, after Pyro, Boost, and trans temp,.....the pillar will be full. I'm leaning towards in front of the T-case shifter.

Thanks!

I mounted mine just right of the Radio in the little spare change cubby hole.

Another mount you could consider is the single gauge steering column mount from gauge works (Autometer).

I would have mounted mine in that location as well if it wasn't for my heated seat switches occupying that spot already.

I dont have a pic of my gauge. Sorry. If I see one I will link to it. The previous owner, put a cell phone/cb clip right next to it. I hang my phone there now, and quickly realized that it blockes the FP gauge. Only a concern now, since my LP is going and I keep a closer eye on my FP
