Load Range C tires

Is anyone running load range C tires? Size 245/75/16 I am looking to soften the ride and have E tires now. Is C too much? Almost always empty.

94 2500 4WD

Thanks,
Bryan

Nothing below a D on a Cummins Diesel.

I don't think you could tell the difference between an E at 50psi and a C at 50psi. Use a bigger (265) tire and run less pressure. Empty you could probably get by with 35 rear and 45 front. Check your owners manual. Get at least a D rated tire you may want to carry something and the D's are rated for 3000 lbs.

I agree with Gonzo, nothing below a "D".

CC.

just rode in a friend of mines who has 'C's on his and it was definately softer than mine in ride with my 'E's but his handled like a marshmellow. my hangs curves better than my GMC 1/2 ton did. way better .
I'm looking for tires also and i am jumping up to a 265. I am trying to find out what the fitment problems are with a 99 style 17" rim. I heard they hit. I found someone selling new takeoffs with the 'E' tires on them. why exactly don't they fit.? Do not go with the "C" (6 ply) rating. I speak from exsperience here, I was runing Denman Ground Hawgs here in CA last summer, they were "C" rated and I had three tires blow out, two in the same day a mile apart on the highway. they got to warm on the highway and I guess with the wieght of the cummins they couldn't handle it. blew right out on the tread section not the sidwall either. I will never go under a "D" rating and after almost going off a bridge on the second blow out I am now runing "E" (10 ply) tires. there rated for 65 psi max I run 45psi for a fairly decent ride.

BBD
