lmc harness & fusible links

here are two photos of my lmc harness. i have lengthened it and stripped it of the yellow jacket (will be covered with split loom shortly). the first pic is the whole harness, and the second is zoomed in. my question: on the zoomed image, are those fusible links?

ok, also, i don't know how to properly post pics - so feel free to give me advice on that as well.

also, for those that have installed the harness - any tips or suggestions before i get started? do i have to remove the batteries & trays or anything else?

thanx again

I just got done making mine longer and changing relays. I just routed mine under the radiator, zip tied it to some other factory wiring and up to the pass side headlamp. No need to remove anything. small hands help hook up harness to orignial harness and bulbs.

Those should be fusible links. On my harness, it said "fusible link" on my wires. However, mine were green.

Another pointer, be sure to have extra relays on hand, mine only lasted a year and that stlye is hard to find. I finally converted mine over to standard 5 pin Bosch 30A relay(didnt use middle Pin), you can buy those anywhere, even wal mart.

Let me know if you have any more ????

Once you install it your day time running lights will not work, one of the relays will be chattering every time the key is on. I solved this by disconnecting the plug for the daytime running lights located under the brake booster, but then my high beam dash light would not come on so shorted across two wires on the plug it works fine. To solve the daytime running light problem went to Canadian tire and bought there kit for $25 and installed it. There is probably away to fix this with whats originally there (stock wiring) but I didn't feel like letting the smoke out trying to figure it out. Nice job on the harness I was thinking of that as well but was in too much of a hurry to install it and see were I was going. I also installed some 80/100 watt bulbs and can see everything know. it's kind of hard to see in the picture but it is the first and third wire on the top of the plug for my 96

so do i just unplug the driver side headlight, then plug it into the harness, then the harness into the light bulb, then across to passenger side and plug harness into the bulb, then ground, each, and then hook up to battery?

that's it easy to do. One other thing that might make it quicker and easier is to take the whole headlight assembly out rather than pulling the batteries each light has three screws two are easy to reach and one can be reached from behind the bumper then slide the light out it will be easier to reach the plugs. I pulled the batteries when I installed the harness one of my bulbs blew two days later so I replaced both bulbs and this is when I pulled the headlight assemblies allot faster.

You can put the bulbs and harness in without pulling the batteries. Just take a little patience. And believe me I dont have that much to begin with.

got it installed and tonite and wow - what a difference! i really am impressed. i routed mine up and over the rad and zip tied it to factory split loom cluster. it was a breeze to install, did not have to remove anything.

i am going to have to do something to get rid of the buzzing relay when the key is on (as mentioned prior), but i could care less about the drl's.

next to go on are the one piece clear housings. . .
