Installed TQ lock up switch
Sheriff, Id do it the way you said.. Tap into Orange/black and run to the switch. Then anywhere in the switch ground, put the resistor in.
Thats how I did mine and seems most have as well with no problems.

I just purchased a wire splice it snaps on over the existing wire anywhere. I stripped a small section to bare wire just to make sure it had full contact. Ran the spliced wire to the switch, then from the switch back out firewall put the resistor in and ran rest of the wire to the battery ground bolt up in front of battery. Works great. I used a stubby metal toggle switch so it wasn't long and in the way and wont break. I'll try getting a picture. I mounted my switch next to my hood release latch

Thanks guys, sounds like I have mine hooked up right. I do have a RadioShack lighted switch (red when off, green when on) so I had to run the setup through a relay, but it works the same.
Does it actually lockup the converter with that switch or just change the light color? (not trying to be a smarty) Only reason I ask is I had the same switch 3 way from Radio shack and it would not lockup my converter but the lights looked cool. Bought a simple on/off metal switch and it would lock up my converter. Ran the resistor on the ground leg and that cleared my codes as well.
It works, but you have to have 12V power to the LED connector and one of the switched connectors. I ran a relay to the switch so the 12V would power the light and the relay and then switched a grounded connection from the relay. Lights work and TC lockup works. Now I just need to figure out when to use it. If I throw it under acceleration after shifting into 2nd gear it locks and then seems to stutter from 2nd to 3rd but that might just be the shift itself. I haven't tried it on 5x5 with the Juice for fear of grenading the whole thing....
ok let me ask u guys this. i have the (banks) chip, taps the wire on the vp and also taps the orange with the black tracer. same wire to lock the tc. would it hurt anything if i tap it again. would it hurt the chip or anything else?
The grass is always greener on the other side....
On another note, the tc should not lock when you put the shift lever in "2" unless you throw the tc lockup switch. Then it should lock, I believe. My problem is that when I stomp on the pedal and then come to a stop the tc won't unlock when I have the Juice on 4 or 5. Ideas?

yes i am moving when i throw the switch. diff speeds too. locks in 2nd when the gear shift is in drive, but when i put it in 2nd, manually from drive, it unlocks. didnt try makin it down shift on its own though. i`ll try that next time. is what it is i guess.
