Installed pyro and boost gauges in the work truck today!

It was pretty easy because I used the backpressure test port on the Pacbrake to mount the pyro probe. I can't believe how fast the turbo spools! When I back off to shift and then get on it in the next gear, it springs back up in about 2 eyeblinks. It's wastegated at 22 psi and it's all in by 1700 RPM. I was amazed at how high the EGT's got, I hit 900 empty. I'm a little worried about how high it will be with about 8 tons on the truck. Oh well, it hasn't melted anything yet. I also found out I've been shutting it off too quick, it took a full 5 minutes at idle to get down to 300.

Don't worry too much about the EGT's. They come up and gow down pretty quick. My understanding is the Cummins can handle 1300 degrees 24/7. If you get higher than that, try not to do it for long. Don't ask how long because I don't know. I have heard of guys who have hit 1800 degrees, but I don't know for how long.

Chris
