injectors

when should you replace your injectors? Do they go bad over time?

Sometimes they fail but not very often! We have had 3 trucks with over 250k on them and never had to replace an injector. I bet if you took care of it and ran some additives every now and then, they would last the life of the motor!

Most people just replace them for the power increase...

When an injector gets dirty the power loss is usually gradual. Thats why most people notice a huge increase with just a small set of aftermarket injectors

I agree with haloman also. I just replaced mine at a little over 100000k and I noticed approx 2mpg gain.
I bought the truck used, so I don't know anything about it prior to me, but I felt the difference from the switch.
I also had a '01 6 speed bought used at 195k, replaced injectors at 220k and got same 2 mpg extra.

I put a lot of miles on my trucks, the slight increase of mileage is very welcome, even if there's the initial cost of injectors.
