Injection pump timing error
I have a 2002 24 valve H.O. that I have installed a "superchips" programmer in, and I have been experiencing a timing pump error. The diagnostic reading that I am getting is "Injection pump timing error". If I de-program the truck, then re-program it, it goes away and may not pop up for another month. Any suggestions as to the problem or any solutions?
thanks for your help

How many miles do you have on your truck? I've had that code set before in my rig. She first set the code around 36k miles and I'm at 73k now and just saw it about 2 weeks ago. I had a dead pedal issue that's why I looked at my codes and saw the P0216.
I would keep driving it until she dies, if ever. Sometimes it just is a code and nothing more. I know many people see this as the death code for the VP44 so be aware that you may be investing in a new injector pump.

The truck has 55K on it. I have had this problem twice, both times under a load and on hot days. I have heard there is a censor that measures intake temp. and that may be the problem. Should I be worried that the "superchips" program is the problem. I only have it set at the 50 hp level.
