An HX55 is too small to be used as a big charger in a twins set. Most people use a hybrid version (HX40-HX55) and run them as singles. JMHO, Chris |
A 35/3B is probably the most popular twin combo.

IMO, a 55 is too small to go with a '35. Try to find an HX60 or HT60. jmo |
If your serious about doing this, buy a big brother turbo for your primary and use your HX50 for the secondary. It would spool like a dog, but man think about beautiful inlets on those bad girls. Two girls are better than one. Then you'll need some heavy fueling and most definately a wild P pump. It would be one bad bikini rider.

An HY and a 55 might work ok but far from optimal.
FWIW At one time there was a guy on the TDR who built a set of twins out of a 35 and a 40. It was not a high HP truck be he mentioned it had great lowend. |
Thanks I Will Look Into A Hx-40/hx-55 :d

An hx35/hx55 would work. I tried an hx35 over Master Power GT45 and it spooled up really fast. Towed well, ran cool. The problem was it flattened out power wise at about 2300 rpm. Probably a 450-475 hp practical limit before egt would start becoming an issue. A new hx55 will cost double what a 3b costs.
