Don't forget to check and make sure the housing is setting flush with the manifold. The SS housings are a bit thicker and sometimes hang up on the rear stud nearest the fender. I removed the stud and shortened it about .15 inches.

Thanks RonA I spoke with Dennis today from HTT and he stated the same thing to check the studs on the connection between the ex. man and turbo. Then to check the ex. man gasket against the engine. We'll see what happens.

I am with you, I just recently installed the Htt and am not really impressed, one of my blue oval buddies, and a few other cummins guys said maybe I am fueling too much down low. But once that turbo lites up you can't stop it. I was debating doing a twin set up before I bought this one, but it is more work and time. If you find the answer to this problem let me know.

hic316, I wish I could say that I have that same problem but mine is laggy down low and does ot lite any harder than the stock charger did the only real diff is that it will pull longer in the power band. I don't know I got some more checking to do this weekend to make sure I eliminate everything.

I am glad I saw this as I was about to order me one of these same turbos. I just ain't wasting that much money, when you can't get the claimed results. I may just have to look at soomething else. Please keep informed.

Guys-- double check your installations. This is a good time to check gaskets and torque.
As for W/G creep, I'd suspect there might be something to that. My manual boost controller helps with that, but I suspect a hobbs-switched WG conversion would be the best long-term solution.

I am pretty confident on my install, and everything is nice and tight, the only problem I had with the install was that crappy oil return line which HTT should have replaced with a stainless braided line to make it a cleaner install. I think My problem is with my quad box, which is telling the truck to fuel too much down low. I wish I could drive a similar truck, or be in one to get the feel of another dodge to feel the differences if any. Driven plenty of fords, no dodges by me.

Super Stock and Pro Street 71 mm chargers ARE available in the stainless versions. It's the turbine housing that's changed.

I understand you were simply asking. And he should answer you directly as to what he installed on his own truck. But the stainless housing can be had on the Super Stock. It's not a different turbo, simply housing. No pissing match from me.

No new news yet on the prob. this weekend will have a go through again, as for hic316 I totally agree on the fact that for the $$$ we spend on these turbos the guys selling them should put a stainless oil drain tube in with the turbos when they sell them, because after I put my turbo on that dang oil tube leaked like a faucet spraying oil all over the bottom of my truck ( man I was TICKED!!! ) anyhow I concur with ya!!
