how much timing can i run??
i know its a different thread but same type of question, i was wondering if i were to advance my timing to 25-30 degrees or maybe higher if it would help on the track/racing. will it make a little more hp? any thoughts on timing advancement for power?? thanks

I saw a guy on comp diesel with a dmax that said he has tunes up to 32* of timing. Different truck I know but wow that is a lot of timing.
I think your head is going to be the first limiting factor on your timing. Do you have rings and studs to hold the cylinder pressure? |
no rings, just 12mm studs and a marine hg, i've run 26 degrees before, infact i drove my truck around for months with it that way, also dynoed it and ran it pretty dang hard quite a few times with out and problems, not knowing it was timed like that[duhhh][duhhh] i used the wrong timing chart when i timed it the first time[laugh]. but i was just curious on what more timing might achieve?? thanks
