help choosing injectors
hi guys, i am looking to upgrade my injectors. i am looking into the mach injector or the diesel dynamics. i have about $800.00 to spend and dont want to do it more then once. i still have the stock turbo. i only tow in the summer months. i have a 5th wheel cardinal about 12,500lbs empty. please point me in the right direction on what to put in and where i can get the best deal. i am looking at performance diesel warehouse. only because they are so close to home. thank you in advance.

I think most would agree that if your going to run the stock turbo and tow heavy, don't go over 100 hp with injectors. You can use your right foot to control heat but your going to be spending more time watching your gauge than the road. If you want to spend once, get mach 1.6's. Buy them anywhere you see them offered, $700 is the price, no deals. I'd personally get edge jammer III's nozzles ($230) and then have them pop tested at a local shop. Then use the money you saved and look for a new or used turbo that's a bit bigger. PDR HX35, HTBG, etc. etc. :)

I would go with the 1.6's. I tow constantly with Mach 1.75's and have no problems. I personally think injectors is not a good place to skimp and try to save money, I am sure the nozzles are fine, but I would rather have the best ones you can get. So, I would spend the $700 once and forget about it.

Get the Mach 1.6s, and be done with it. From what I have heard, you will not be disappointed. Works well with the stock turbo.

As mentioned above the Mach 1.6 is a great all around injector. But the trick is to get the right injector for you and you needs so you only buy once.

Quick fix for the turbo is to use the HX35 from a manual trans truck. The 12cm housing with a boost elbow will make a noticeable difference. Great mild upgrade for a few hundred bucks!

I agree. The mach 1.6's and an HX35 is a nice combo. With a comp and mach 1.5's (older version) my roommate put down 382 with an HX35. That combo will also rip the guts out of your stock tranny as well.

Before you order those EDM's, contact Dyno-Mite Diesel Performance (360-794-7974) about their injectors, if you order before the end of Feb you will save huge over the EDM's.
They are new, but the kick butt! Do a search here or NWBombers.com, it was stated to do it once and do it right earlier and I agree. |
HX35 Turbo
I was reading this post and a couple of you said something about a HX35 and mach 1.6 injectors.
Is there anything i have to do to the comp when i put a HX35 turbo in? or the injectors. Thanks PS Got my first stacks and there great! |
Your 98.5 should have the HX35 stock. It wasn't till later that DC started to put the HY on the autos.

You will love the mach 1.6s you wont believe how strong your truck will feel but I would strongly recommend a DTT valve body to help save your trans.
