ok so head gasket is blown.....


think i'm just going to go with studs and gasket for now (also get the head cut if needed).


from what i've read marine gasket is the way to go.... but didnt find a clear answer on thickness.... .020??


and where is the best place to buy arp studs for a 12v ?? anyone have a used set they want to sell me?

ya i've looked at those, seems everyone reccomends decking the block though.....

 

I just put a +.010" gasket and a new head with o-rings on my 93 with studs of course.
I don't think there is actually a "marine" gasket. I'm pretty sure all 12 valve gaskets are the same with 3 thickness choices.

There is a "Marine" version that is of better quality, if you want I will go get the part number off the one I have here for you, its a 20 over. Kind of bad timing, I have one I have been trying to sell for months and finally got it sold for $100 shipped... If for some reason it doesn't go through I can let you know if you would like...

As far as studs go I have been reading a lot on CompD that new stock bolts are just fine as long as you torque them correctly, I still like my ARP's but again thats something else to consider...
