have edge comp and no gages in yet can i tow on level one?

i have a edge comp that i was going to put on tomorrow before i go out of town for the weekend I will be towing about 9k. I have a FP gauge that is running at 13wot with the vulcan kit. I was only going to tow on level one and may not even tap the pump till i get gauges. Do i have my bad idea jeans on to do this.

Don't tap the wire and you'll be fine. Running with the wire untapped will actually help because the advance timing that it throws out will actually lower EGT's about 100-200*.

Level one is basicly an EZ. 2 and up start getting into the wire you tapped IIRC.......you should be fine if you keep your foot out of it.....

its never a good idea to tow without gauges. If you really feel the need you should always keep the rpms up over 1900 RPM

once you start lugging the engine, the rpm's drop and the egt soar.

believe me I tow a 10k+ 5er with an auto.

Do you have an aftermarket filter set up?

DUDE...you went WAY backwards on that one! Better get some air flow into that motor....not to mention fuel pressure upgrade...i have seen many a VP-44 fall to a Comp!!!! How many miles on your truck? Sweet spot for the VP-44 failure seems to be around 115,000-130,000 from what i have seen.....

Edit: 170,000....wow....be carefull if its the OE!!!

Just to be safe put the BHAF on there and run the comp in EZ mode (no wire tap) and you'll be fine.

tempoffroad! When Bombing these Trucks the First thing on your list of
things to do should be Gauges.

With no wire tap, you can't hurt anything that wasn't already at risk...
