last night my gf was driving my truck and when i pulled up behind her she blew a little smoke at a stop and the rpms just kept goin and goin and goin. found out the govener springs backed out a couple clicks. last time it did this i dropped a washer in the pump while doin govener springs and had to get a new pump. but i got a dragon fly pump outta the deal. jus glad i didnt have to do it agian.

 

Drove it for a day so far and nothing has happened since very weird just wondering if anyone else has heard of this or had it happen. I want to know if this does happen every once in a while under certain conditions or is there another problem somewhere

 

Might want to check the retainers or the nuts on the governors. There are detents in it to keep it from coming loose, thats why there are clicks when tightening or loosening them.

 

I ended up running the nuts all the way out then i set them again so I guess we will see last time I had gov. issues it cost me 2300 bucks so yea kinda makes ya wonder if I fixed this issue or should I have done more
