Got my MBRP muffler today... Best place to install?

I've been running a straight pipe for a while now but now I got a MBRP muffler. From watching video clips, it sounds really good; nice and deep without the blap blap blap obnoxious noise. Everytime I pass by a cop I let of the throttle because I don't want to raise suspicion, hopefully this will quiet it down a bit and reduce that 2000 rpm drone.

1) My question is, where do you think is the best place to install it in the exhaust? Towards the rear where it normally goes or more underneath the cab?

2) Also, does MBRP use glasspack mufflers? I don't want it to start sounding like a straight pipe again.

Oh and I will get you guys some before and after sound clips for direct comparison. Give me a week or two, I've been super busy with work lately.

I'd install it where your 3' straight pipe is, just cause its easy there. You could try both and see if there is any difference though.

The volume will be way down. 30' from my truck, you can't even hear the exhaust, just the engine. I miss not having a straight pipe when I go through tunnels.

I would say the further forward you put the muffler you will get a deeper tone just from echoing down the pipe, when i did my 5" we installed the muffler half a dozen times till it was a sound i liked. Ir was well worth the few scrap pieces of pipe.

Thanks for the replies. Glad to hear it will noticeably quiet things down a bit.

Sounds like a good idea. Deeper is always nicer. Does it get louder with the muffler more forward though?

Id say youll get more resonance in the cab the closer your muffler is to it...but thats just me.

if it were me id put it back in the box and send it back but if you dont like the noise i would put it where the straight pipe meets the tail pipe......
