Question Goerend Valve Body Vs Transgo

I'm still fairly new to the 47RE world..

I bought my truck with a Mojave green TC and transgo shift kit installed.
It seems to be holding my estimated 350HP without problems..

I am curious though.. What kind of benefits would I see by getting a valve body setup and ditching the transgo setup?
Its only a matter of time before I blow this combination up as I plan on putting 500+HP through this tranny eventually.

I have 3 sled hooks and about 6 trips down the drag strip with this tranny.. I beat the snot out of it daily. It keeps asking for more..

Lets hear what you have to say!

I too, would be interested in knowing this. My transgo has served me well, but i know a good built valve body SHOULD be better. My stock tranny with the transgo has held up to 2 sled pulls, lots of load hauling, and probably 16 trips down the 1/8th, and 6 or so down the 1/4, and all kinds of crazy beatings on the street with the lockup switch. I cant complain to say the least.

I'm convinced that Dave is pretty much a wizard with valve bodies....

I told him one day that mine was dropping kinda hard into 3rd under light throttle. After describing to him how it shifted, he sent me a new one on his dime.
He explained to me why it did what it did, and how he fixed it. Most of it went over my head, but Dave can tell you the the flow diagram for each circuit off the top of his head, and why/how each part does what it does.

The biggest advantage would be customer service....Dave stands behind his work. He's always been available via phone or e-mail to answer a question.

Gotta be a good reason why so many folks around here are sending Dave their hard earned money...

I would suggest you call Dave and ask him.

Dave is pretty awesome and really knows his stuff (he said some things that went over my head too ....he is a very straight-up guy and never tries to "oversell" you at all. When I told him my future mods he actually felt bad telling me I would need a trip-disc b/c of the price difference. Top notch guy, he will tell you straight up if u need one of his valve bodies.

My trans-go will develop an "attitude" once in a while. If I were to do it again, I'd go with a VB that's been set up properly.
