I don't think Goerend would ship a transmission ( or 2) to Guam to have then break due to pump fault.
That's how everybody ships their transmissions, in a plastic or metal crate very well protected, supported, etc.
Besides TC is bolted to bell housing removing a lot of weight from main shaft.
You could ask for separate shipping, it would cost more.

As mentioned in my previous post the torque is slid the whole way into the pump and there is a bracket going across two bell-housing bolts and two pump bolts usually and the torque is pretty solid in there.
Great looking trans man, I'm sure you won't be disapointed.
Good pictures too for the DIY'er..
How'd you get your cross member out if I might ask??
I know how we get ours out I was just curious to what tools you have available to you.

Cross member is easy, just support the trans jack it up about 1" then take out the mount, then unbolt the cross member and hammer it up til loose then slide it back and out. Yes i said UP don't try to take it down and out.
Here is a trans one of my chapter members had shipped to my work yesterday. We are gonna put in it this weekend at the Cave.
Yes it is a Goerends 48RE going into an 05 2500.
Very nice shipping crate too.

I was just curious how DIY'ers removed the cross-members.
I've helped friends beat out the cross member when we didn't have a port-a-power to spread the frame..
I've saw two of my buddys beating one down ant out and boy was it funny how they almost crapped their pants when the frame went back to its normal position and made a huge noise...

The first time i pulled mine i used a Hi Lift jack to spread the frame. Never again. If you remove the trans mount, you can easily knock the cross member up and out. It's a lot safer that way.

not hard at all, just time consuming. lots of things to remove and reinstall. thats how I removed my crossmember, just hammered it up to the floor board, then wiggled it backwards and it pops right out.
