Take a hammer and a screwdriver and punch it through there and pry that plug out so we all can see what's behind there. That is the only Real way to find out.

thats why im asking what it is, because there already is a hole in it. looks like someone put a self tapping screw in it to try to pull it out or something. and then said ah nevermind and globbed a bunch of gasket maker on it haha

so what is the normal running temp for an aftermarket transmission?
I replaced all my steel tube lines with 5000 psi Aeroquip hoses for hydraulic fluid and I moved the sensor for my autometer gauge to right below the heat exchanger on the block. do you guys think this is a bad place for it? its still in the same section of line as the factory temp sensor bung.
I took it for a test drive and man this thing is so much better than stock. I haven't been able to open it up yet though, with wet roads. plus I overfilled it a tad and need to make sure the levels are consistant.

How was the transmission shipped? Was the torque converter sitting inside and on the transmission shaft? How much TC end play/horizontal movement did you end up with? The transmission pump is fairly fragile and might of liked to be shipped dry with a vibrating TC. I would rather had the TC shipping in its own box than installed in the transmission.

Normally the torque is slid into the pump where it would sit when you bolt it up to the flywheel, then there is a plate installed to normally 2 bell-housing bolts and 2 torque bolts.

it came on a truck, then on a very large boat. the torque converter was on the transmission just as you see in my first post. I never removed it from the transmission either. just bolted it on, filled up the trans and drove it to put it simply haha
