georend transmission
so i had my trans rebuilt and i am using my bd valve body and pressure lok. everything worked good before the rebuild. now it shifts realy bad from 2nd to 3rd it seems to slip into neutral before it shifts to third. what is causing this and how do i fix it they said it wasnt the tv cable could it be a valve body adjustment

hi
might sound stupid but did you recheck your fluid level on LEVEL ground when warm with trany in N ! what are you using for fluid ? atf+4 only !!! check your codes and post them, then erase them all and test drive it to see if any come back ! |
Maybe too much gap in the direct drum clutches or a bad seal.

If it's a Goerends tranny give Dave a call.
Also i know that he wants Dextron III in his tranny's. He sends a bottle of special trans additive with all his tranny's. |
Just to reiterate what scottsjeeprolet has said, Dave has always told me to run either ATF+3 or ATF +4 if you want to shell out extra money, but he says you get the same performance with Dextron III + a bottle of Lubeguard (can be found at NAPA or Orielly's).

i have one code p1765 and i think its a code for the lock up switch. but not sure. thats all the codes i have. the guys at my shop think it might need new springs in the valve body and we are waiting to hear back from dave still.

According to your sig you only have one of Daves torque converters. Doesn't say anything about Goerend Trans. Thanks Steve B.
|
all the parts in the trans are the same parts he uses the only difference is i used my bd valve body and pressure lok the clutches shafts torque converter and flex plate are all his just instead of me spending 6000 for a direct replacement i saved about 3000 doing it this way.

.....and now your having issues
