Gear Vendor
I have a GV unit sitting the shop that's going to get installed on the transfer case of a '97 manual this weekend. Never done one before but GV says three hours max plus having a shop shorten and balance the drive shaft.
There are a couple of rules you have to follow when using one that are easy to break, no 4wd or exhaust brake when the GV is engaged.
If you are looking for increased mpgs with a GV forget it, people who have them report very little gain.
My understanding is the other major overdrive manufacturer, US Gear, is no longer going to be making them.

I was thinking of finding a used one for my 81 chevy turbo 400/np208, 4x4 with 4.10 gears.
I know a guy that had one on his dualy gas chevy and he realy liked it.
3000 rpm at 65 down to 2200 rpm should get better gas mileage out of it.
I dont think it would do much putting on on a over drivetrans unless you drive 120mph.

Gear Vendor bolts on in place of you tail shaft cover of your trans or transfer case. If you get one you can get different adaptors from GV and put the same unit on a different truck Ford, Chevy, Dodge etc 2x or 4x4.
