Which Gauges?
Well,I am already looking for gauges for the 24v truck I will be getting pretty soon.I was just wondering what gauges ya'll like?I have tha autometer z series in my 1st. gen and I figgered' they would also look good in a 2nd gen.What others look good?I will be running a pyro,boost,and fuel pressure.And what triple a-pillar pods work the best?Thanks for the help.

They are all afraid to answer as the look is such an individual thing!! Take a look at our site we have all the Auto Meter and DiPricol's there and you can get a look at the different apprearances etc. Call us if you have any questions etc.

I really like my Autometers for daytime viewing.
I really HATE my Autometers for nighttime viewing. The halo lighting on the AM gauges is inferior to the through-the-face lighting of the DiPricols and Isspros, IMHO.
Were I to do it again, I would probably NOT by the Autometers, and would go with Isspro or DiPricol instead.
Actually, what I WISH I would have done is gone with the SPA technique gauges. The ability to have a quality (most accurate around) gauge with two per hole means your install will be much cleaner.
Only downfall with the SPAs is the $$$-- quite spendy.

How about rather than brand suggestions, does anyone have any suggestions on what ranges the gauges should show? For example, in another thread, Shovelhead suggests a 0-30 psi fuel pressure gauge, based on his truck showing 15 psi at idle and the idea that a gauge probably shouldn't be "pegged" all the time. I see lots of 0-15 and 0-100 fuel pressure gauges, not so many 0-30.
How about boost gauges? 0-35 for a stock truck, maybe 0-60 if you're running a bigger turbo/twins?
Pyrometers might be the least difficult to choose--they mostly seem to show 0-1600, although I've seen listings for 0-2000 which seems pretty unnecessary given the limitations on EGTs for these trucks.

Unless you are going with a big fuel and turbo the 35 psi boost should be enough.The pyro at 1600 is plenty since if you run it anywhere close to that for more than seconds ,shot pistons.Isspro Evs are what I like,but you will probably want to get whatever matches your dash.

Looks like plenty of agreement on the 0-30 fuel pressure. Isspro makes them, I know, part number R5604 (black face, white pointer), R5604R (black face, red pointer), and R6704 (white face, black pointer). Anyone have the part number for a 0-30 fuel pressure gauge from DiPricol or Autometer?

I like my $PA's....infinite range, so I never have to worry about going off the scale. Nice to have peak recall and an idiot light so I don't have to keep an eye glued to the gauge when I stomp on it. TDR did a test on pyro's a few years back, and the SPA was the most accurate and had the quickest response. Only complaint I ever had was the LED back light burned out on my original boost/pyro gauge. It was a good excuse to upgrade to the 2nd gen gauge.

I got the pyro with green/yellow/red scale for easy EGT monitoring, and a 0-30 psi boost. When I start doing fueling mods, I'll probably be needing a higher boost scale, as I already, stock, run up to 24psi boost. My truck is a 96 12v.
ISSPro makes a 0-40 psi boost, but it is labeled 'Manifold Pressure' on the face instead of 'Turbo Boost' like the 30 or 60 psi gauges. I prefer the 'Turbo Boost' label.
