gauge pickup placement?

looking for the best place to put:

egt gauge- before or after turbo and any one particular way or place to mount it in either of those places?

boost gauge-i assume theres a port somewhere already for that or do i have to drill-n-tap somewhere?

tranny temp....its a standard but would like to install it just so all the gauges are working- is there a pre-drilled hole for that too?

thanks

The boost gauge is easy--just replace one of the intake manifold bolts with a fitting that hopefully came with your boost gauge. Definitely no need to drill and tap anything.

I'm not sure where the best place would be to put a temp sender on the NV4500. I'm thinking maybe one of the bottom PTO cover bolts, but maybe someone else has a better place.

For the EGT probe, I definitely prefer it pre-turbo. If you look at the "collector" near the turbo mounting flange, you should be able to see it's divided into two sections--the front part channels the exhaust from the front three cylinders, and the back part channels exhaust from the rear three cylinders. Due to some characteristics of the exhaust ports on cylinder #6 (rear-most), it tends to have slightly hotter exhaust temps than the others. Because of this I like the EGT probe in that rear part of the "collector". It's tough to describe this without a pic or diagram--one look at an example and you can immediately see what I'm trying to describe.

Definately pre turbo for Pyrometer. A little grease on the drill bit will catch the big pieces and the rest will blow through. Not to worry.
How to video here.....
