Fuel question???

As you can see my mods below, I have an idle fuel PSI of 12 and if I stomp it it will drop to 1 or 2 psi with a steady normal driving of 7 to 8 psi. my question is am i hurting anything in the time being with a once in a blue moon stomp??? I am planning on an Airdog system REAL soon, and after I install it will i risk the VP going out with a higher fuel PSI once its installed??? I do run 2 cycle oil 1 qt to 1 1/2 qts on the last 2 tanks (since I learned about it)

To make it short, yes you are hurting your VP44 which is lubricated by the excess fuel. You will hear different stories but the majority say you don't want it dropping below 5psi ever! It is time to replace that lift pump and baby it until you've done so.

I wish i knew the link but someone posted a study on fuel lubricity additives and i believe it showed that 2 stroke oil either did nothing and in some cases takes away lubricity of diesel... Biodiesel was the best additive for lubricity. I'll try and find the study. As for the VP44 as long as there is a positive pressure your not running it dry but most people don't like it when it drops below 10 psi.

With a holley blue and vulcan system my fuel pressure never drops below 11psi floored and idles at 16-17psi.

2 stroke was one of the higher lubricity adders in the study I saw on here last week. To the OP, I wouldn't run a 1 to 2 psi fuel pressure for long.

Get the Airdog and be happy.
Here is the link to the additive study.

I would becurious to see that website talking about 2 stroke and lubrication. I would think it does take anything away but im no expert. I you motor oil, and 2 stroke oil all the time. Dont know if im hurting anything or not but it runs quieter and smoother with 2-3 gallons of oil in there with some fuel.
