fuel pressure gauge
 

I am looking at installing a fuel pressure gauge on my 02 cummins and was wondering where to plumb in the gauge and if anyone had pics of an installation I could look at. I am also trying to decide what gauge to go with whether it be a 15 or 30 PSI. Right now I am looking at the autometer electric gauge 3361 (or 2660 isn't exact match but close) since it will match the other gauges that I have installed and I really don't want to a mech gauge. The current mods on my truck are an edge comp, AFE cone filter, autometer pyro, tranny temp, & boost gauge. Also where did you install your gauge. I currently have a triple pod that is full and I am looking at the steering colum mount or fabricating up my one bracket and mounting it under the dash some place.

Go with the 30psi gauge. Depending on the health of your lift pump or a modified fuel system, you would be pegged on the 15psi gauge.

I installed my fuel pressure gauge (mine was mechanical) at the VP44 inlet. I removed the schrader valve from the inlet banjo bolt. Some tap into the filter housing on the outlet side (the side fuel has already passed through the filter).

Mine was installed in my pillar pod because I didnt have the tranny temp (manual). I think the steering pod would be best.

Here is a picture of my 02 with the fuel pressure gage in a steering post pod. Be careful that you have enough room in the inside of the pod, if you go mechanical gage, you will need to drill out a hole in the back, and run your tubing around the column. Inside with all the tilt crap, you will pinch a tube.
