fuel economy

I am only getting around 17-19mpg with my 00 3/4 ton club 4x4 with 6 speed and 4:11 gears, and stock tires. taching around 22-2500rpms when crusing on the freeway, does that seem low?

also what kind of things will inprovie mileage towing/highway driving?

Welcome,
That sounds about right.;)
For better milage, taller skinny tires, lower numerical gear ratio (3.73s or 3.55s, and a good tailwind. :D

Sounds pretty good to me.

Here's mine for comparison, should make you feel pretty good.

2002 non HO 2500 4x4 with auto tranny and 3.55 gears.
35 inch tall tires that are 11 inches wide. (tall and fat).

14-16 mpg highway, 70mph at 1900 rpm's.
(overhead rides around 11-12mpg)

Currently averaging 12-13mpg on winter fuel.

Above is hand figured with corrected speedomoter/odometer.
(verified with GPS)
No fueling mods as of yet.

Best I've seen with the big tires, according to the overhead computer, is 20mpg cruising at 60mph on flat road.

I get 19-20, with 3.55's, auto, 285/75/16, no engine mods. Unless I am infected with Leadfootitis :D , then I get 17-18. This is also calculated by hand, with the corrected odometer readings.

Hunh??? 17-19 mpg?

What more do you want out of a 7000 lb truck?
