FRANTZ bypass oil cleaner - USERS PLEASE READ
Re:FRANTZ bypass oil cleaner - USERS PLEASE READ
I guess with an aux. tank in the bed, the only reason to stop at a filling station is to grab the T.P from the bathrooms.

Thanks for the explaination Gary.

FYI - I have heard that in very cold (below freezing) weather that the water that collects in the tp can actually freeze ,causing the filter to stop all together.

I am in San Antonio Texas, so I doubt I'll have to worry about that!

Well, yeah, ya probably hear THAT from the same guys claiming the TP will fall apart and all end up in the pan...

Face it, IF you had enough water in yer oil to cause such a problem, you would have lots more to worry about than the Bypass filter not functioning!

Typical oil analysis numbers for water in oil run down at LESS than .05 percent - HARDLY enough to create a freezing problem - and if you have lots MORE than that, you have serious engine problems needing immediate attention...

Pretty amazing all the false rumors and old wives tales related to these filters floating around... I suppose a person COULD choose so poor a quality TP, and then install it so ineptly as to cause SOME sort of problem - buy they'd have to be pretty brain-dead to do it - and would be better off off the road anyway... ;D ;D
Lord knows, *I* wouldn't wanna be on the same road with them!
