First hooks on new Driveline/Tcase/Charger, DHRA Missouri pull and WI pull

The Missouri DHRA pull was my first hook with the new 271 Tcase and new drive shafts.
I had a 1 piece 4.095" x .180 wall rear shaft made along with a 3.5" x .083 front shaft, 1.562 stub, using the stock CV.
This shaft setup has been tested to 110MPH in 2WD and works great!
While these were being installed, I also bolted on a Pro-Street 66 charger from High Tech. So far I'm very happy with this trubo, it is very streetable and spools better than my SP66.
Also, I had my converter loosened up a bit when I went to Goerends to have my billet shaft and hub replaced.

Missouri DHRA pull, 268 feet. Did not lock the converter, ran 2nd gear unlocked at 3500RPM.

Washington County Fair Pull, 308 feet.
This was a 4th place hook. I was unable to get the turbo lit as it was 100 degrees. I ran 2nd gear locked up, worked very well!

I would have been at 3rd place, but the 1st place winner was a Duramax running nitrous (drugs were not allowed, but also weren't checked for) by the time they actually checked his truck, it was about 45 minutes after he pulled, and the nitrous was convienently disconnected.
He pulled 341 feet! 2nd place was 316 feet, a Duramax as well.

Looks like I have some more tuning to do!

Good pull bobcat, I seen ya. I was sittin up in the bleachers. That was the best event we are gonna have in this area all year. When I was on my way home I pulled in at a gas station in owensville and seen ya there also. I was gonna come up and talk to ya but I couldn't find ya anywhere. I was driving that white powerjoke that you were parked next to. I had to drive a buddy of mine home that had a little to many pitchers of beer to drink from the beer garden.

Did you by chance talk to my girlfriend that was in the passenger seat of my truck? If so I was under the truck taking off the front driveshaft shield.. when they put my new front driveshaft on they didn't using nylock nuts and so they were rattling loose.. Didn't want to listen to it all the way back to WI.

IIRC, I talked to the passenger in that powerstroke.. I dunno.. We were running on a couple hours of sleep and I was still trying to recover from FRIDAY night

No but I did see her walking around the truck. That guy you talked to is TJ. He sells and installs diesel parts. That is where everybody from around Rolla goes to for diesel stuff. A buddy of ours was gonna pull that night but on his way there his tranny screwed up. Im not sure if you remember seeing it or not but he had that black reg cab ford superduty with a p-pumped 24valve Cummins in it. I believe it still has the ford zf-650 6-speed in it. Me and TJ are gonna try to get my truck ready for the pulls next year. He should have his truck done in a couple of weeks. He's got an 01 HO with 320,000 miles on it. He runs (for now) the edge hot juice, 325hp injectors, II Silver Bullet, and a custom dual disk, and a FASS. Im not sure what else he has on it.

BTW, when you talked to TJ, did you happen to see all the puke on his shirt?

Hey bobcat, when you're running locked, I assume you're using high gear? how do you do it just hit the switch once it shifts or do you let off slightly so you don't shock load the driveline? I've been thinking a lot about running in 1st locked (3.55 gears) but I'm worried about the shock when she locks up...

I manually shift when I pull, I let it hit 4k in first gear, shift to second, let it catch its breath, then lock it up..

I think you'll need second gear.. 1st is too low. I have customers running around 400HP with 3.55 gears and 35" tires and he's hit 3rd..

Sweet video's Josh is my cousin (teddy bear on this site. The one that called and talked to you about your tranny), and when he called Goerend the other day, he said he was now making his converters a touch looser for spoolup reasons. Of course I got mine before he went to the looser converter. Mine is a little slow spooling, and I would have rather had the looser one he is now selling, but oh well. Ill have him update that when I finally get a built one from him I guess(at least thats the plan). Did your new converter seem to make much difference in spoolup?

Eric
