Right.....you don’t want very fine micron rating on the WS.....this is on the suction side of the pump.....don’t want to induce cavitation......

Sure...that is the FF-1010. That is what comes stock on the system.

The water seporator can be reused. Just fill with some Gas and rinse, and repeat until clean. The water seporator is 140 Micron to keep big junk from getting into the Gerotor. You dont want a super fine filter on this side since its on the suction side.

As for the leak, make sure you have Thread sealant on all pipe fittings. If you dont, it will leak. Check the weep hole as well in the motor base. How new is your unit? SN#?

Forgot to ask...where did you get the FS1000 part number?

Its the FG version of our WS. Exact same.......

That FS1000 can work. BUT you do not want a fine micron rating on your suction side of the pump. I hear there is a 2 micron filter that goes where our water separator is.......this may cause cavitation. You want to put the load on the pressure side of the pump, not the suction side.

Micron Ratings for NAPA filters

Diesel Dan,

First post. Great resource site for info.

What source did you use to determine the micron ratings for the alternative FASS filters that you suggested? I am unable to acquire these details from the online NAPA parts search, or from discussions with NAPA parts personnel. Any feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks. -RambinWreck

NAPA Part numbers:

1274 ---- 10 Micron
1203 ---- 5 Micron

Napa filters are Wix filters. AND the part numbers are almost the same. All you have to do is add a 5 in front of the NAPA part number (5XXXX).

SO with that being said....take a trip to the Wix web site and plug in the info there.

51202

1274 -- i looked at this one...and something is not correct. I will have to check my part number on this one.....but honestly.....just run the 5 and be done with it.....

Thanks for the Wix info

Thanks for the info Diesel Dan.

Was just confused. I finally found some info on the NAPA site by using the FIL1203 part number. Drilling down gave me a 30 micron rating for that filter so I just wanted to confirm with you. Greatly appreciate the info. -RamblinWreck
