FASS on 12 valve?

I'm in the process of selling my 2000 to buy a 97 or 98. I have a FASS fuel system on my truck i was wondering if I should keep this for a 12 valve?

No, the mechanical lift pump on the 12 valve is nearly bombproof, no problems there. Might want to pull the FASS off anyway and sell it though.

All though it isn't really needed on the 12v, it has been done before. You will need to change a spring in it to raise the pressure. The 12v runs up to about 38psi of fuel pressure. Not 15, as on the 24v.

I personally think you should keep the FASS and put it on the 12V. This will allow you to rip off the crappy fuel filter assy on the 12V. I understand that the fuel filters on the older trucks are a pain to prime, the FASS will eliminate all the priming.

OR,

ya could box that FASS up and ship it to me :D

I am going to install a simmular unit to the Fass system in the near furture. I have already relocated the filter to the front of the engine compartment where the drivers side battery used to be. The priming is just one advantage the volume of fuel is an advantage to the higher HP trucks as I can pull the stock lift pump down to almost nada on a full out run.

Evil:
We don't need to trade, it would be a lot more fun to do yours from the ground up. A Piers long block race cam, stage 2 or 3 heads, custom injectors, 5" exhaust, Big brother twins. With a few extras you would have an SUPER EVIL!!! truck. Maybe H2O and menthanol injection and don't forget nitromethane eliminates that black smoke.

Convince the girlfriend of what? I tell mine from the beginning that the truck comes first. Then them. Maybe that's why I'm single.[eyecrazy] [laugh]
