Smile External Trans Filter ...?

Hi guys
Have any of you guys ever installed a external spin-on type trans filter ... On My other trucks I run a Baldwin BT839 ...it a transmission filter for big trucks .

It works great on my other diesel powered trucks that have auto transmissions ...

HI Greg,

I have put an external filter on the outlet line before the cooler(s). I used the PH8A pure one oil filter, I cut into the lines and installed the spin on unit just below the tranny/engine coolant cooler(heater in winter). From what I understand when a TC shreds itself it will wreck the tranny by spreading debris throughout it. I was told that a filter inline would help, I hooked up a gauge in the line as well to monitio TC lockup pressure vs line pressure,

I have pics if you wish?

Good luck
