Exhaust too tight? (Engine rotation)

When the engine shifts as throttle is applied, its there a posibility that an exhaust system can be too tight (turbo back) and cause damage? Or does the downpipe allow for movement?

My system is on some of the stock rubber hangers, but I made sure there is basically NO movement...

Truck seems to vibrate more with it like this...

And when I put my habd on the intake tube I can feel a good vibration. (I've never done this before as I didn't have an exhaust)

Thats what those rubber hangers are for , as long as ,when the system is installed , it was set not to hit anything .

Oh, its not hitting anything, but it doesnt have ANY play in it...

Which can either be a good or bad thing...

Just wondering if the engine moving is putting any un-needed stress on my turbo...

I doubt you'll have any problems. I dont have any movement until i get to the tail pipe on my system. Have not had any problems yet.. I would just keep enjoying that sweet sound that comin outta it

The rubber in the engine mounts lets the engine move under touque. With the engine moving, the exhaust will tend to follow rotating a little, which is where the flexability in the rubber hangers come into play.

You want it tight. Any play in the mounting will just amplify vibration and drone.

the exhaust should allways be able to move. I have seen downpipes crack and otherparts break from the exhaust being to tight on cars

If the engine moves (and it does), anything that's solidly attached to the engine had better be able to move as well. That's why the exhaust was rubber-mounted - in addition to the rubber serving to isolate vibration from the body and/or frame.
