Enough Air?
 
Would this kit be enough to run my air actuated US Gear D-celerator, the included air horn, and the occasional air tool / tire fill up? (Probably not all at once..... [duhhh] ) How about maybe the future air bags on the rear (firestones or Pac-Brakes type)?

If not, what would I need?

Any other suggestions for around the 400 price?

Did you see my pictures in you're other thread?

The air bags and the exhaust brake won't take very much air at all. Minimal, they would work ok with just the air compressor really. The horn is going to take the most cfm/volume. When I was choosing my air compressor, I really wanted one that had a 100% duty cycle, but I won't make it run for long periods of time. Just figured if I had a 100% compressor but only ran it 50% then it should last a long time.

I'm building my own kit, but its going to be more pricey. I'm getting this pump http://www.air-zenith.com/products.a...=0&menuid=2852
it is 200 psi, 2.9 cfm and 100% duty cycle. It can be mounted outside, where the viair has to be mounted inside out of the elements and is only 33% duty cycle.

Spend a little more on a good pump and you will be happy.

I did see those pictures, but I thought this was worth a discussion too. I think that is the route I'm going to go too..... Great looking set up and thanks again for the pictures. I'll let you know if I have any more questions when I start putting mine together.

What compressor did you end up going with?

By mounting inside/outside would under the hood on the wheel well be considered inside or outside? Where would I need to mount the viair to be safe?

Why are you getting such a heavy duty compressor? What are you using it for? Just not sure if I need such a heavy duty compressor for my application, but like I said, I'm new to this.....

I am pretty sure I used the Viair 450c, its a 100% duty cycle pump. Also its mounted under the bed over the axle, but the air inlet is ran into the cab where the filter is. So I don't know why exactly the whole pump would have to be inside? You definitely don't want to have the air inlet outside as it could suck in water.

if all u need is 35psi, here's a neat idea! I custom fabricated a 4gal air tank mounted outside the RH frame rail, just where the quadcab and box meet. I'm using the engine boost, at the intake elbow, to fill it up using 1/2 od sinflex with a check valve @ the tank. from the tank, I routed a 1/4 sinflex to a control valve under the driverseat, near the seat control. from the control valve, another 1/4 sinflex goes to the air bags. I installed a quick release valve on top of the rear axle so when I release the air, the truck drops in a hurry! neat 2 c. Just one quick acceleration fills the tank and the tank holds about 2 air bag activation cycles.
