Are you shure that the humming isnt the bd lift pump on the frame rail. When i had my holley on it would hum so loud ppl thought something was wrong with my truck aside from excessive smoke and noise from the stacks.

As for the fuel pressure, lots of ppl have it that high. They say a hard start problem starts to show after a while with it around 25 and higher. Most like to keep it around 16-20 idle no less than 8-10 wot. I would see if you can get the idle down a little to save the headache of the hard start.

I've been running a Holley blue and stock pump with the same fuel pressures listed above without issue.

I never had that happen yet. Take a pair of vice grips and clamp the line enough to get the fuel press to drop a few pounds and see if that affects the humming. If that doesnt help ya might have to live with it.

You can use a broomstick to help determine where the sound is coming from. Hold one end next to your ear and stick the other end on the vp44. This is the shadetree method =P

I am having the same problem with my vp44 it is making excessive noise and causing my fuel pressure to go wild on my gauge. I tested the FASS by bumping the starter and the fuel pressure is normal when the engine is not running but when it is running my pressure gauge goes crazy humming and jumping in pressure. Im not sure but i think they sent me a 150gph pump instead of what i ordered (the 95gph). How do i tell by looking at the pump?

You don't have a FASS problem, you have a gage problem. The gage will rattle. To cure it get a shutoff valve and just crack it to cure the vibrations. Do a search on it, there are hundreds of posts regarding that problem.

Agree with H.I.D..... it's your gauge..... too much pressure getting to it.
Need a "Needle Valve". Got mine through Graingers but have read many get them from NAPA.....

Picture shows 'needle valve' (not mine) mounted on top of 99's fuel filter canister. As good a place as any. I just put mine in line. Close it WAY down to stop the rattling needle.
