edge juice w/ attitude questions
edge juice w/ attitude questions
I'm thinking about getting this. I have a stock truck right now and have no reason to do any mods but thought it would be nice to have all the gauges. Then I looked into the edge and for a coupel hundred dollars more then 4 gauages and the pillar I can get the whole edge system.
Does the system come with all the stuff you need to monitor FP, tranny temp, boost, pyro ect... or will I have to buy thero couples and stuff like that?
Since I will probably never use all the edge functions do you think its worth the extra couple hundred dollars instead of buying all the gauges?
For a non wrencher how diffcult is this going to be to install?
1 more thing I have an auto tranny is the edge put more risk of causing tranny problems if I dont really up it too much?
Thanks!!

The kit comes with everything you need. It is definatly worth every penny. You can do what I did, I didnt tap the pump wire so It wont have as much power to kill my tranny. The hardest part I would say would be tapping the pump and bleeding the fuel system. Its worth the money just by having the fp gauge, it saved me.
I love the edge/attitude... I did tap the wire though. I was really surprised by the features of this unit. Yes, you can monitor everything. I have mine set to monitor the EGT, Boost, Trans Temp, and Fuel Pressure. So, look at it as having 4 gauges, not 3. The only thing I didn't really like about it was the cheasy aluminum dash mount tab for the display that came with it. I have mine mounted on a tinting squeegee in the upper corner of the windshield. It looks much less out of place there. If you have any real specific questions maybe I can answer them. Otherwise, check out ebay and buy the cheapest one. Money well spent. Oh yeah... figure into your economics the fact that you will be getting 24-25 mpg.

I don't know about 24-25mpg, but I did jump up to nearly 20 from high 17's. I'm real happy with the unit and all of it's features. In fact I was doing a lot of heavy towing recently and I much preferred the digital gauges over the analog crap on the dash. Only downside is I tapped the pump and now I have to head over to DTT for a new trans. I don't think it was my towing, I think it was the guy before me with the gooseneck.
Anyhow, the install went very quick, just a little over two hours including tapping the pump and the exhaust manifold for the pyro.

I got the edge juice attitude in my truck, 02 cummins 6 speed 4x4, and I took a road trip the other day about 200 miles and was gettng 27 mpg!!! I seem to be getting better mileage on race than the mileage feature

I have the Edge HOT Juice with Attitude. If you are not looking for any additional power, then analog guages are the way to go.
Yes, it will wipe out your trans if you let it. The torque comes on so hard and furious in the low RPM range that it will easily break loose the stock converter lock up clutch. I'd not tap the pump, to resist the urge to "open it up."
