edge comp P1693 code??

edge comp P1693 code??

i installed my edge comp today without tapping the IP and it threw the code 1693...i cant find out what one it is...any help??

The 1693 is just a companion code. It's no big deal.

It means there was a code tripped. That's it. If you want you can take it to autozone and have them scan the computer and clear but I can guarantee that it'll come back. It's a code that gets tripped anytime you play with these trucks. Anyone that's ever diddled with a 24v has this code. I've had it for 6 years now with no problems.

You left the check engine light part out. I would get it scanned just on the chance that another code deeper in the computer got set. If the truck runs good then I wouldn't worry about it but I'd still get it scanned if the check engine light is on. Usually a 1693 doesn't turn a check engine light on.

ok well i took map sensor apart and cleaned it all as it was dirty...im going to go put it back together and see if it goes away...

as of now i still have the code...but the engine light is off as i cleaned all the plugs..but my alt was dirty and it started smoking alittle....damm

The code won't clear itself. You can uphook the batteries and try to clear it that way or take it to an autoparts store and have it done there.

ya the code is still there..but the engine light is off now that i cleaned the connections up... thanks big blue for all the help today..i will just leave the code on there

Ok Well I Went To Install The Plate To Tap The Wire With But Had Some Problems..long Story Short After Having The Batts Unhooked The Engine Light Came Back On....***??

Not true... I have no check engine codes with my edge juice with Att....

Mine has never thrown a check engine nor has anyone elses I know of but all of them at least have a p1693 code after installing a box.

My guess is that it is not the only code. How did you figure out you had a 1693 to begin with?
