Dual Exhaust...

I am going to get a straight pipe on my pickup soon, and I was wondering what your guys' thoughts are on dual exhaust. I think it would look good and I would like sound and smoke coming out of both sides. I would probably have 5 inch chrome tips angled out each side. Will my sound quality, noise level, or restriction be affected? Or would I just be a disgrace to this site if I had duals on a CTD? thanks.

I've got them on mine. Got them off of Ebay,or RPMoutlet.com theysell the Motoblue duals for pretty cheap 4" back to 5" chrome tips, i modified mine to exit under the rear bumper.

Please don't get dual 5 inch chrome tips... Too many people get big gaudy 5 inch chrome tips on 4 inch trucks and I think it looks stupid, especially with duals... Just my humble opinion, but I don't see much of a difference between that and this...

I'm not a fan of duals, it's a matter of preference. There is certainly no need to go dual when the downpipe is single.
On a gasser it makes sense, on a diesel though.........

Check out www.warpspeedperformace.com
They have some pretty unbeatable pricing on 4 & 5" and also have duals.

I'm only 23, so I was just a kid when the Cummins came out. I love the first gens... One of my best friends older brothers bought a brand new 3500... Had straight duals put on it. I loved that truck. To this day Cummins with duals make me smile. I think I'm gonna put straight duals on mine.

It's like putting clothes on a dog. Really no reason for it, and it doesn't help performance or egt's. All you get is less money in your wallet for the extra useless pipe and labor to make the dual. Some people like the look, and I guess that's fine if it floats your boat, but it looks stupid and pointless to me.

I am kind of split on duels. I have seen some realy nice duels done right and look great. Them some that look like they are held up with duct tape. The hang down too low just look stupid. My vote...STACKS!!!

Just depends on if YOU want them or not. You wont disgrace anyone no matter what you do. Its your truck. That said; i personally dont like duals on a diesel unless they're stacks. Its all personal prefrence

I like the duals, single or stacks, just all depends on the truck and its use.

I agree with a statement above, its your truck and you need to make the decision what goes on it or not. Look around to get a feel for what your needs are and go with it. It will be a good upgrade either way!

Well said! I would not do it...but it's your truck! No real affect on sound or restriction.
