Damage during cam install?
Just put a helix2 cam in my truck a few days ago. Install went really smooth and was much easier than I expected. I was just wondering if you could damage anything internally in the motor while pulling the old cam or installing the new one. Ive heard of some people scratching or dinging the cam bearings, but could you do anything else to cause damage? Would it be possible to actually dislodge one of the bearings? Its virtually impossible to pull or install the cam without dragging it a little, we just took our time and went slow. Im just curious

The only cam journal with a bearing is the one up front. The rest are just bare block. Some 04.5's have a rear cam bearing.

I kept looking for the other bearings thinking there was no way I pulled them out when I pulled the cam. |
