I just pulled the codes on my CTD and I got three of them. P0251 Injection pump fuel metering control A malfunction, P0236 Over boost code, and P0252 Injection pump fuel metering control A range/performance. My question is what caused these codes and what to do about fixing them. I noticed the check engine light come on when I was doing a little towing. Also there has been some hesatation when the box is above setting two. It also feals like it defuels at wot around 90 then the power comes back.

You shouldn't get the overboost code with the comp attached.

The other codes are usually the death codes for the injection pump.
You'd be hard pressed to get it covered under warranty with the Comp on there.

Check the comp connections, that might get rid of the overboost one,
the others might possibly be from dirty comp connections, but just in case,
start saving up for the new VP44.


Edit: You know, the more I think about it, it very well could by the Comp messing up on you.

Today I found that the pump wire was a little loose. I read somewhere that this can cause these codes to pop up. Hopefully thats the case. Now the truck doesnt have the hesatation but it still feels like someone is turning the box down at about 90. Also today I turned the box off and reved the motor at idle and it missed and shot a little white smoke, but with the box on it was fine. Could I have a bad injector too? If the box set the codes will the check engine light go off or do I need to get them cleared be for the light will go off? Man I hate when things dont work right. Thanks for any help. Oh and Im over 100,000 anyway, last one wasnt covered by warranty either.
