closest turbo to the hy35/9cm low end spool?

I really like the lowend spool up on my hy35/9cm turbo. However, with ez edge and mach 1.6 coming at beginning of new year, it will be around 330hp/700tq approx. I think with the injectors I will be pressing it on stock turbo. I was looking at a PDR hx turbo/12 cm. Does anyone no if I will get low end lag or will the "modified" hx come close to my lowend spool now. What turbo without going twins will get me super close to the lowend spool of the set up I have now. I hear people talking about lag on stock hx 35s. I really like lowend spool, but need to keep it cool. thanks in advance.

Well the HX will not spool near as quick as the HY but it's not that much worse. My suggestion would be the BD Super B turbo......that spools extremely fast and will be more than enough to keep you cool with those injectors. Plus it's a sweet turbo to boot!!

I hate the super b my buddy runs. Very laggy on the low end. Don't know if he got the new or the old version but I don't recommend it.

The modified HX will spool almost identically to your stock HY. It will be just a touch laggier but you won't notice it. Nothing spools like the HY but that HY is killing your truck. It's just barely big enough for the stock truck much less one with mods. I couldn't believe the difference in low/mid/top end pull that I gained swapping out the stock hy for a ksb-1.

Must be the old one, 'cause I loved the one I had. I went to twins, got rid of it, sold the twins, and bought the Super B back. I'm gonna give it another shot and see if it's better than the 62mm S300 I'm running no

My experience with the Super B is it would build boost at about 1200RPM, and by 1600RPM it was it 20psi. Not bad by me, but my 12v might spool a charger a little better than an EZ and 1.6's

Better than my buddy's truck. By 2000rpm he's just building 10psi. Once it hits 10 though he's off like a rocket.

That's the guy on here right...the red truck?? Can't remember his name!
Doesn't he have a Comp and 1.6's? I would think that would spool it A LOT better than that, but I've not got to play with any 24v 6 speeds...yet. You should let him test out you're TST/Smarty

Wow I don't know what's going on there......but the few Super B equipped trucks I've ridden / drove have spooled crazy fast!!! Not near the HY spool....but I had ZERO complaints!!

Especially with a COMP and injectors, that thing should spool great!

Yup. That's him. dodgediesel4x4. He's in the middle of no where and has to go to the library to get online. He's running a drag comp and mach 1.5's with a scotty 2 and a 4" straight pipe. I think it might be the fact that he's got a 6spd with 3.54 gears and 35's on it that's killing him. It also doesn't cool that well. He can still hit 1400* at 40-42psi. I think he likes it but I'm not that impressed.

almost sounds like he might be running an old school B1... I can get 45psi at about 2000rpm with my sps62

I have DDII's with a Comp and an HTBG witha 12cm housing. It spools fast, not as fast as my HY, but it runs real close. I would recommend that it for sure!!

I would still think it would do better than that. My 95 isn't on tall rubber or anything, but it weighs 8500lbs empty, so it's not a light truck either.

If it was an auto truck I'd understand the lagginess, but a 6 speed shouldn't notice it as bad...at least not if I was driving it anyway. I like to keep my RPM over 16-1700RPM after I shift....too many days pulling a heavy load I guess

I guess that's something else about lag we forgot...different driving styles also affect how a charger spools, too

Yah. His everyday driving spool up is fine. It's his WOT spoolup I'm talking about.
