Cab lights how to replace bulbs
could someone please post a pic with the cover off of the cab lights thanks
I am trying to replace a bulb on my 96 thanks
I dont have a pic but you twist the cover off of the bulb counter clockwise, it comes out easily.
thanks the whole thing is stuck and the wire is very short how do u hold the base?
I think mine is all one piece, just hold the bottom of the bulb and twist it out of the housing. I havent done my cab lights for a year and really cant remember but hope this is right.
it is on a 96 truck I think the 94-97 are different. the power line to the light only has like a 1/4 inch in it and I can not get my fingers under the housing.
I didnt know they were different, sorry im out of ideas. Good luck.
thanks fro the post.
Ok what about getting some plyers between the roof and lights. Gently squeeze the bulb with the plyers and just turn the housing.
when u remove the two screws and lift up every thing to include the bulb and the lower portion of the light lifts up nothing stays attached to the truck. the only thing holding it to the truck is the power wire to the light
I replaced a cab light bulb on my truck yesterday. And all i did was pull on the light some and i had enough wire to easily get to everything. You sure the wire isn't just hanging up.
Yes there is nothing left on the truck. If you look on the under side of your light the bulb and wires should be sticking in at 45 degrees or so. You might be able to pull a little slack out and just twist the wires and bulb out all together, its very simple once you get one done. Unless somebody has put some aftermarket cab lights on this should be the way its done.

thanks for your help guys the power wire must just b stuck on something in the cab. I was able to sneak my little finger in their and get the cover loose
