bullydog

anybody using the small bullydog chip? the one that runs in line with fuel pump setup? or is anyone using bullydog industries products in their dodge?
Is another company better for these mods?

Most people on this site use Edge products as the preferred choice of timing and fueling boxes. They have built a strong reputation for working well and excellent customer service. I have a Blue Chip box that I really like and others use TST fueling boxes w/ much success. Fill in your "sig" in your profile, it helps us understand more about your truck (year, trans, etc...). As for a BD box, hopefully someone using one will chime in for you.

Bullydog Chip

I have the 65 horse chip on my 98.5. I got it the same time as a AFE drop in air cleaner and a 5" exhaust. I was a big difference at first. Now it doesn't seem to be working. I know it is, I have tested, but I have grown too used to the power and need more power!

I will end up with a EDGE comp box with the wire pierced, but since my year is known to fry the injector pump in 15 minutes with the comp, I will wait till my pump goes and figure in the price of the comp at the same time.

Good luck,

James

The 98.5's were the man problem for the VP44 pumps dying and so is lack of fuel pressure 90% of the time on anything else. I did an install for a customer of just an edge comp in ez mode meaning the box can go 120 hp or 60 hp we hooked it up 60 till he gets a clutch. That next day he was supposed to install his gauges boost/egt/and fuel pressure he didn't and had a smoked lift pump from the time I installed the box called me 2 weeks later with truck probs I said u hook up the gaues he says no so I hook up his Fuel pressure its 5 psi idle normal is 13-15 and when I touched the gas 0 the lowest you should see is 8PSI at WOT so you see the problem.

Definately get gauges first you will thank anyone who tells you t his later down the road as you learn more.

As for your 2002 with a vp problem of blowing the pump every truck is different some have put it on and smoked the pump 15 mins later others have 100,000 miles on them. Im pretty sure most fail from lack of fuel.
