You will need a compressor tool for the front drum, for the OD section you will ned a compressor tool(different from the front one) and I like the "flat edge". You can use the intermediate shaft as an alignment tool if you build the OD section first. Dave has a way to setup the od without the "measuring tool" DO NOT BUY the miller alignment tool, it is built wrong!!!!! This is why I said to use your intermediate shaft!!

I will try to find the compressor for the front drum and give you a part number. You do have a shop press? Right?

Ok, so all this talk about building tranny's I really started to pay more attention to mine. What is the shift pattern for a 47re? Does the converter lock in 3rd with the OD off? I have no slippage with OD on, but there is a little after that 3rd shift with the OD locked out. If that is lockup then my tranny slips in OD only when OD is locked out??

I'm thinking about doing the same thing. I'm leaning towards the update kit, valve body and TC from DTT. Haven't decided on the billet input or output shafts yet. I would like to add an exhaust brake in the future and I've heard the stock input shaft isn't up to the stresses induced by the e-brake. Still need to do some research and talk to some more people.

With OD locked out you have 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and then lockup. Once locked up in third (drive) there should be NO slipping. Until the converter locks there will be movement in the tach from the loose viscous coupler in the TC.
