Hey Guys

I bought my truck about 2 years ago, and the biggest thing I tow is a flats skiff. I have never even given the brake controller next to my right knee a thought until yesterday.

I got a new a/c compressor installed, and when I picked the truck up, the red light was shining on the controller. Now the red light comes on every time I hit the brake. I don't know anything about the unit except that it is a Tekonsha. Is it ok that the light comes on, or should I try to disable/turn it off?

I don't mind the light, but I don't want to hurt anything either. I would really appreciate any help from you experienced haulers.

 

I doubt if it's hurting anything... but I have the same brand controller and the light is only on when my trailer is plugged in. Green light when I'm not on the brakes and a red light when I'm braking.

 

The light should only be on when the circuit is completed by plugging in a trailer. I'd look into it to see if there's a short somewhere or something else was wired into that circuit.

 

try and see if your signal sending unit is lined up with your brake peddle.that's what was wrong with my 1 gen.hope this help's..
