Both LP's just QUIT after about 1 min.

I started my truck to let it warm up this morning and when I went out side about 5 minutes later it was barely running so I ran over and shut it off. When I say barely running, I mean BARELY, blowing all kinds of white smoke, popping and missing all over. I tried to give it some fuel, nothing, check the FP gauge, ZERO. Thats when I shut it off REAL quick, then let it sit for a sec. Turned the key over, heard the LP's trigger, started it, 21psi @ idle(usually see24psi) then all the sudden about a min later, no sound from the LP's and ZER0psi) fuel pressure. I drove around in the snowy slush alot yesterday and cant say that my craftman ship on the wiring is top qaulity. Thats my guess as to where my problem is. I have a spare relay that Im gonna try first. Im running one 30amp headlight relay with power coming from the battery through 14ga wire. Switched power is coming from the OEM LP harness.
I had fuel pressure long enough to pull it around to the garage, then lost my pumps again, Im going to let it set, then pull it into the garage cause I dont want to lay in snow.

I would appreciate any suggestions and ideas.

Jamie

Check for corroded connectors. Especially grounds.

Are you reading fuel pressure after the fuel filter? If so, you might want to also check that you don't have a bunch of crud (or gel) built up in the fuel filter.

I've seen a couple of instances where the obstruction gets pulled up against the filter, but when you shut down it falls loose and allows fuel to flow for a little while after it's started again.

I have thought about the fuel filter, its got about 5k miles on it. And I ran about a tank of a half of a certain tint of diesel out of an old overhead tank. I just replaced the relay, sanded the ground spot and now connections on the ground. The only things I didnt replace was the female connections that attatch to the relay. Turned the key, and the LP's fired, started it and they never hickuped. So I think that did it. It has been snowing and wet here for about the last 7-8 days so the moisture may have set in.

Jamie

thanks for the help
