Boost Elbow Install and Check Engine Light On

I installed a boost elbow and it upped the boost from 17psi up to 22.5psi with exhaust temps around 1000 pre-turbo. The weird thing is the check engine light came on.

Ill scan it but any ideas what can cause that with only that change?

P1740 figures more power equals transmission issues.

P 1740 does not correlate to boost. (Torque converter solenoid code)

but-

Just using a boost elbow or any other device to increase boost over stock levels will lead to de-fueling in the first step ( programmer thought wastegate sticking, reduce fuel, customer goes to mechanic, better than grenading stuff) and if de-fueling does not work with a check engine light and a limp mode.

So you need either a boost fooler ( so the ECM does not register the higher boost) or some ECM software that accepts this higher boost. (like Catcher/Smarty software that accepts much higher boost than stock)

Any recommendations for a boost fooler?

Boost fooler not cooler..

Either some Edge box, Quadzilla etc or a Smarty.

Read up on these boxes in the forum, there are a lot of different things to consider before getting one.

Those EZ's are hard to beat. My friend's going on 20 yrs with his on a 2nd gen 24v. That and RV275's have been in the whole time. Zero issues and a clean exhaust.
