blow by tube???
 
to all the 4x4er out there, what have u done with your blow by to stop the leak? any one have a problem with oil geting all over the undersid of the truck and leaving a puddle in ur driveway?

I went to Home Depot and got a union that would fit the short, stock tube and a piece of solvent resistant tubing for Auto Zone. I then ran it down and back to just behind the cab. I also put a PVC 90* on the end. If you don't want any drip, you'll have to put catch bottle on the end of the tube.

I basically did the same thing Crobtex did except I used PVC and then painted it. I will still drip but won't make a mess on the underside of the truck or TT unless you have some serious blow by.

right now my trucks makeing a big mess for daily driving, had my blow by checked the shop said no more then normal for the miles on my truck, iv heard the best way to keep the oil in the motor on steep downhills is to run a rerought the tube over the motor and back down after, any problems with this?

That's what I did. I went straight up, over motor towards firewall, and exiting behind fuel canister down to starter.

I went down and kept it at downward angle all the way.

Blow by tube
 
waam here, A few years back I talked to a Cummin's Rep. about my puck bottle getting dirty and the front of the engine dirty. He said I had to much oil in the crank case. Any thing above the full line on the dip stick it will puck it out. He told me to keep the oil just below the line on the dip stick and I won't have no problems. It worked on my truck, cause I haven't cleaned my bottle in 10,000 miles. I change my oil every 4,000 miles and I unscrew the cap and look into the puck bottle, and I can just see it's wet on the very bottom. I also change the oil in the rear pumpkin every 24,000. waam Holland, Mich.

ok well i ran it over the top and back down the back, ill see how this works right now, hopfuly that fixes the oil drips and the leek when going dow hills, kind of worried maby the oil wasnt even coming from there sence no one seemed to have the same problem with oil driping all over the place

Trust me....a LOT have people have had the same problem. Be sure to use some type of cleaner to clean the engine and it probably wouldn't hurt to clean the back of the radiator. A lot of oil and dirt build up can cause overheating. Might want to even flush it from the back side.

Here ya go! Tech right up I did.

I know there are alot of guys out there with this problem, so hear is a simple, $10.00 fix. The 12 & 24v engines have an oil collector that sits on the front of the engine. The collector (Pill box) fills with oil and when the engine is on an incline or decline the oil runs out and is sucked through fan and builds up on the radiator causing overheating issues.

Hear is what you'll need:

-6ft of 1/2 PCV pipe
-2, 90deg female couplers
-1, 90deg female/male (non-threaded) coupler
-1, 90deg female/male threaded coupler
-1, straight coupler female, threaded on one end, non-threaded the other end
-1ft of clear vinyl hose
-2 hose clamps
-1 can of black paint (I used flat)
