best/better programmer or box
best/better programmer or box
was just looking in to buying a 2nd gen 24v and i was just wondering what are some of the better programmers are for one of them. was looking into edge and they seemed to have a pretty good setup. anyone have any info they would like to share or experiences with diff. tuners you have had
I've run an, edge EZ, edge comp, tst mp3 comp, and a smarty. I now only run the smarty. It's all in what you do with your truck. Do you want to run all out fast. tow. or what. different boxs for different jobs.
If your going to tap the wire I would make sure you upgrade the LP and get some guages (FP as a minimum). Your cluch will go up in smoke at some point. Some barely make it out of the driveway, some make it for months....but it wont last, thats for sure.
When it come to what box is best, Blackdiesel is right in what he says.

depends on what your plans are for your truck!! if you want just a mild timming box a ez, or a bd plug and play (dont know if they still make these or not) or a smarty. if that isn't enough any comp/ juice w/att tst III / will be more than enough to get you in trouble with your head gasket/clutch/input shaft/and stock turbo. but if your on a unlimited budget i love my redline/juice/att. smarty combo. juice/att no fuel all timming smarty for the down low gains and redline for the fuel and rpms.
