Axle question
 
I put this in the 3rd gen sectiom also but i thought yall might have some insight also,i have a 1997 ram 3500 one ton dually with 410's and i also have a 2003 ram 3500 single wheel with 373's i want to switch them i want to put the 410's in my 2003 so what im wondering is are they the same? and can i just switch them im not afraid of doing the work in pulling them out or anything just don't really feel like buying new ones if i don't need to. also if this won't work if anyone knows of anyone that wants to trade or anything please also let me know.

If you mean switching just the gears from housing to housing, then no, it won't work. Your '97 has a Dana axle, and the '03 has an AAM axle. Not compatible. You could probably switch the entire axle assembly over and make it work, but obviously you'd then have to add dually fenders to the '03.

DRW D80 is only about 2-3" wider than a SRW D80. I never measured the 1150 AAM when I had one here, but I'd wager it would be close to the same width as the DRW axle.
